July 18, 1997 - Forensic Expert
Testifies
At least some of the shots which took the lives of
Vidar and Delphinia Lillelid on April 6th were fired from no more than five and one-half
feet away, and some could have been fired as close as six inches from the victims. That
testimony came from TBI Forensics Expert Steve Scott. Scott testified the gun powder
residue tests conducted on clothing off the two adult victims revealed the possible
distances the shooter or shooters were from their victims. Scott later testified that no
tests have been done at this time on the clothing of the suspects in an attempt to
determine who might have done the shootings.
