Lars Larson

Lars Larson got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather twice an hour from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon. Twenty-seven years later, he's only moved 75 miles to the east (Portland)...and light years to "the Right." Along the way, Lars has worked for radio stations in Eugene, Spokane and currently NewsRadio 750 KXL in Portland, where he double dares station management to pry him loose. Despite friends who tell him he "has a face made for radio" Lars has worked for three television stations: KVAL in Eugene, KPTV, and KOIN in Portland. Much to his wife Tina's delight, Lars has picked up several dozen awards, including a couple of television Emmy's and a Peabody.  Lars and Tina live in a little house, built in 1915, floating on logs in the Columbia River. Last year, they lived for 8 months on their 28 foot power boat while the house was being remodeled (and a second story added). Lars Larson airs weeknights from 10:00 PM until 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday on WGRV.

Dubbed "the most remarkable talk-show host on TV ever" by TV Guide and "master of the mike" by TIME Magazine, the Emmy Award-winning Larry King hosts CNN's Larry King Live, the first worldwide phone-in television talk show and the network's highest-rated program.   The Larry King Live program airs at 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday on AM 1340, WGRV.

Jim Bohannon is one of the nation's top radio personalities. His shows combine breaking news, entertaining features, and informative reports on issues that hit close to home. All this, plus complete weather, sports, and business.   Jim Bohannon airs weeknights 1:00 AM until 5:00 AM on WGRV.

Tom Martino has been fighting for consumers more than 25 years in radio, television and newspapers. He is known as "The Troubleshooter" by millions of loyal fans! His dynamic action-packed radio show can be heard on radio stations across America – syndicated by Westwood One. The show originates from Tom’s flagship station KHOW in Denver.

The Outdoor Report
Ten minute program hosted by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Association Officer Bill Nance. The show, which airs on Fridays at 3:45 PM, focuses on hunting and fishing conditions, including lake stages, open seasons, hunting safety, and boating safety.

The Ag Report
Daily four minute program hosted by Murray Miles with the Tennessee Agricultural Network, a division of the Tennessee Radio Network. The Ag Report discusses information pertaining to farming and other agricultural topics. The Ag Report airs Monday through Saturday mornings at 5:15 AM.

Swap 'n' Shop
Locally produced call-in show allowing listeners to place items to buy, sell, or trade on the air. The program is open to any caller, except businesses. Swap 'n' Shop airs Monday through Saturday at 9:45 AM and Monday through Friday at 6:15 PM.

Community Calendar
Daily listing of church, social, and community meetings and events of area interest. The Community Calendar airs at 8:20 AM and 4:15 PM, and is included as part of the 12:30 newscast and Town Crier News at 5:00 and 6:00 PM and is posted daily on-line.

Radio Bingo
Local on-air Bingo game played between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the Hometown Radio Show. Listeners play along on Bingo cards provided by WGRV. First person to Bingo each week wins cash. New games begin each Monday.

Birthdays and Anniversaries
Read each morning on the Hometown Radio Show. Names submitted by listeners. Two winners for prizes are drawn from the daily list.  Submit your birthdays and anniversaries through our webpage.

Students of the Day
Students picked by principals at all elementary schools. Names read on the air during before school and after school hours.

Live at 10:05
Interviews concerning topics of local importance, the topics range from blood drives, community events, political candidates, and issues of community interest. Airs at 10:05 in conjunction with those events.

Singspiration
From 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday, Gospel Music played.

Saturday Morning Oldies Show
Each Saturday morning from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Nick Ryder, picks and plays some of the best in classic country. Artist featured include Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, Hank Snow, Johnny Cash, Porter Waggoner, and all the legends of country music. The show also spotlights one particular singer each week.

Challenge of the Cross
Fifteen minute program hosted by Reverend Marvin Dobson. Airs Saturday evenings at 6:15 PM.

Fifteen minute program broadcast live from the home of Gordon Miller in Greeneville. Airs Sundays at 2:45 PM.

The Gospel Greats
Two hour nationally syndicated program hosted by Paul Heil. Program features gospel music, countdown, and interviews. Airs Sunday evenings 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM

Christ United Methodist Church
Re-broadcast of Christ United's morning worship. Airs Sunday evenings from 7:00 PM till 7:30.
